Iowa Caucuses not Far Away… Candidates Getting Uglier!!

Posted by: DefiantRican  //  Category: Technology

With the Caucuses only a few days away, the candidates are rearing their ugly heads. Obama is attacking Hilary, Hilary is attacking Edwards. One big nasty circle. I honestly do not see why the candidates have to become personal about this. Why attack their opponents personally. Attack them on what matters. The, topics, their history in politics, their views, things like that. Not if you ever smoked pot before. That is stupid. Anyway, no matter how they attack each other, we can all be assured one thing and that is that Hilary Clinton will win the Iowa Caucus!!

Senate stays in session over holiday to thwart Bush

Posted by: Defiant  //  Category: Politics

WASHINGTON (CNN) — The last political scuffle of the year between the White House and the Democratic-led Congress played out on the floor of the Senate Friday morning — even though nearly all the senators had left the Capitol for the Christmas holiday earlier in the week.

In a session that lasted under a minute, Sen. Jim Webb, D-Virginia, opened and then immediately gaveled closed the Senate.

His sole reason for doing so was to block President Bush from naming controversial “recess appointments” — a constitutional mechanism that allows the president, during congressional recesses, to fill top government posts for up to one year and avoid Senate confirmation.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid announced late Wednesday he would keep the Senate open with a series of “pro forma” sessions through mid-January.

Tense talks had just broken down with the White House on a deal that would have allowed the president to make dozens of those appointments if he agreed not to appoint one controversial official, Steven Bradbury, to be the permanent head of the influential Office of Legal Counsel at the Justice Department.

Bush declined to accept the Democrats’ offer, and Reid refused to approve Bradbury because of Democratic concerns about Bradbury’s involvement in crafting legal opinions for the administration on interrogation techniques of terrorism suspects.

Similar sessions were conducted for the same reason over the Thanksgiving recess.

Webb won’t be the only senator tasked with presiding over the shortened sessions. Other Democrats — including Sens. Edward Kennedy of Massachusetts, Byron Dorgan of North Dakota, Jack Reed of Rhode Island, Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, Ben Cardin of Maryland and Chuck Schumer of New York — will share the duty.

Congress Has No Balls!!!

Posted by: Defiant  //  Category: Politics

All the recent talk about not funding the war and allowing the criminal George Bush to get what he wants was all for nothing. Congress approves billions of dollars to help fund the war. What the hell is this?!! Bush is a totalitarian jerk off that I honestly think, gets off on getting more and more of our troops killed. It is some secret fetish that this “man” (and I use that term lightly) has. While he is getting his rocks off when the casualty reports come in, Congress, is sitting there with their thumbs up their asses watching as he blows a load. I mean WTF!! Dems took over capital hill with the promises of ending the war, not funding the war, ummmm……….

Abortion Issues. For or Against??

Posted by: Defiant  //  Category: Politics

This as we all know is one of the most touchiest subjects to discuss. However, I feel that I need to say some things about it. I am not for abortion and I am not against abortion. I think that a women AND the father should have a joint say in what happens. Not just the women, regardless of the “it’s her body” thing. Unless, of course the mother was raped. Then the decision belongs to her. I do not agree with however, the fact that just because a women gets pregnant she has the sole right to choose whether or not to have that child. I mean, it is part of the father as well, is it not? What makes it just her decision? Just because it is her body? No! There are three body’s in the mix when a women gets pregnant. If a woman is in a relationship with a man and she gets pregnant, they both need to decide on the future of their family. If a mutual agreement is reached to abort, then so be it. That is the way a relationship should be, that is the way a family should be. For once, think about the father. Not just the woman. Society these days is so quick to judge the man and forget about his rights. How about we think about them atleast for a second before you decide to take his child on a whim.

Bush Is Warning Dems To Fund The War!!

Posted by: Defiant  //  Category: Politics

What the hell does he mean he is warning them. What is he going to do?? Nothing! He is an arrogant son of a bitch that thinks because he is president, he does not have laws to follow himself. It is about time that Congress is standing up to him and not letting him run all over people like he normally does. I applaud Congress for not funding the war. This needs to end. Bring home our troops. Stop the needless SLAUGHTER of our sons and daughters just to satisfy your ravenous thirst for blood.
